      Question

Shouldn’t devotees chant their rounds in the temple room? I have one new bhakta here and he tells me “I can’t hear myself, and the temple president is not chanting in the temple room and many gurus also don’t chant in the temple room, so if they can’t chant in the temple room, then how can I? Also shouldn’t devotees finish all their 16 rounds before 7:00am (before Guru-puja)?

It is nice to chant in the temple room, but not a hard and fast rule. For new bhaktas however, it can be seen as a training period of three months where they are given the chance to learn the best habits. This is discussed in Fortunate Souls. 16 rounds before 7 is good but not absolute.
