Our policy is in accord with the ISKCON GBC guidelines and the system which was established by Srila Prabhupada as follows:
- A candidate must have been chanting 16 rounds and following four regulations for at least six months before he can become an aspiring disciple.
- After becoming an aspiring disciple if the candidate continues to follow strictly for another six months and:
a. If he is still desirous of taking initiation from the proposed spiritual master
b. If he has passed the initiation exam
c. If he has the recommendation of the local temple president
d. If the spiritual master is desirous to accept him as a disciple
3. Then he can be awarded initiation.
In most cases we consider these qualifications sufficient to become initiated although an exception may occur.
